WINDOW RESIZER / SUPPORT
Support
If you get stuck, or a window moves in a way you didn’t expect, let us know. The app has no accounts, so we have no way of reaching you: the line you send us is all we know.

- Your app version, found under the menu bar icon > About Window Resizer.
- Your Mac model and macOS version, and the displays you have connected.
- Which app’s window it happened in, and which shortcut you pressed.
- A screenshot or a short screen recording.
Windows don’t move
Windows are moved by the “Window Resizer” shortcut in the Shortcuts app. The first time you open the app, a setup window appears. Click Add Shortcut, click Add Shortcut again in the Shortcuts app, and when you return to the setup window, the window list opens.
- Check that the “Window Resizer” shortcut is in the Shortcuts app. If you delete or rename it, the setup window appears again.
- Windows settle into place all at once, 0.2 to 1 second later. On a display placed above or to the left of the main display (the one with the menu bar), windows may not move to where you want them.
Pressing a shortcut does nothing
- If another window manager (Magnet, Rectangle, and so on) uses the same ⌃⌥ keys, it gets them first. Change the shortcut in one of the two apps.
- In Settings (⌘,) > Shortcuts you can change or turn off the keys for each action. Every row also has a button that restores its default.
- Left, Right, Top, Bottom, Fill/Center and 1/4 · 1/3 · 2/3 act on the window of the frontmost app. Bring the app you want to arrange to the front first.
About the window list
- Press ⌃⌥Space to open and close it. Type an app name or a word from a window title in the search field to show only matching windows. Esc clears the search first, then closes the list.
- To see what is inside each window on its card, turn on Settings > Application Previews and allow Screen Recording. macOS asks for this permission again about once a month.
- Minimized windows don’t appear in the list.
I want it to start when I log in
Turn on Settings > General > Open at Login. It is off by default. If you turn off the menu bar icon, the app appears in the Dock instead, and clicking its Dock icon opens Settings.
Removing the app completely
- Move Window Resizer from the Applications folder to the Trash.
- Delete the “Window Resizer” shortcut in the Shortcuts app.
- To remove its settings as well, move the ~/Library/Containers/kr.co.qnit.window-resizer folder to the Trash.
- Remove Window Resizer with the minus button (-) in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording.
- If you turned on Open at Login, also remove it in System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions.
