WINDOW RESIZER / PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy policy
Window Resizer has no account, runs no server and makes no network connections. This document sets out what the app reads in order to move windows, what it keeps on your Mac, and what it means that QNit receives nothing at all.

We collect no personal data
- There is no account to create, so the app has nowhere to enter a name, email address or phone number.
- The app makes no network connections. QNit runs no server for this app, and the app contains no usage tracking, analytics or advertising SDK.
- Purchases and payments are handled by Apple on the Mac App Store. QNit receives no buyer names or payment information.
Permissions and what they read
The app runs in the App Sandbox and does not move other apps’ windows itself. It runs the “Window Resizer” shortcut in the Shortcuts app, passing the app name, order, position and size of the windows to move, and the Shortcuts app moves them. This needs no permission. The app asks for only the one permission below, and you can use the app without turning it on.
| Permission | What it does and reads | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Screen Recording (optional) | An image of each window and its title | Shows each window’s contents on its card when “Application Previews” is on, and shows window titles and searches by them |
Without any permission, the app reads from macOS only the app, position and size of the windows on screen, and the pointer position while the green button menu is on.
This is everything the app does with the Screen Recording permission.
- What it collects: when you open the window list (⌃⌥Space), one still image of each open window, at most 640 pixels on its longest side, plus the window titles macOS includes when the app reads the list of windows. It records no video, audio or pointer.
- What it is used for: only to show each window and its title on its card in the window list, and to search windows by title.
- How long it is kept: only in the app’s memory while the window list is open, and discarded when the list closes. It is never written to a file.
- Who receives it: no one. It is never sent over the network and never shared with QNit or any third party.
- Turning it off: with “Application Previews” turned off in Settings, the app captures no windows. You can withdraw the permission at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
What stays on your Mac
| Item | What it holds | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| Settings | The 18 shortcuts; whether the menu bar icon, the green button menu and Application Previews are on; whether the app has confirmed the shortcut is installed | Reset the shortcuts with “Restore Defaults” in Settings. To remove everything, delete the app and then the ~/Library/Containers/kr.co.qnit.window-resizer folder |
| Shortcut | The “Window Resizer” shortcut in the Shortcuts app. If iCloud sync is on, it also appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account | Delete it in the Shortcuts app |
| Login item | Whether “Open at Login” is on. Kept by macOS | Turn it off in Settings, or in System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions |
The Screen Recording permission is kept by macOS. You can turn it off at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Sharing with third parties and outsourcing
Because QNit receives no personal data, it neither shares personal data with third parties nor outsources its processing.
Children’s personal data
The app collects no one’s personal data, and that includes children under the age of 14.
